Do you know your anime!?

Do you know your anime?

There are so many different mangas and animes in the world, just like there are different books and movies.
People don't usually take these japanese comics too seriously, but the stories are as good as books. The only difference is that the writers draw the story instead, making the emotions leap off the page.

I know so many different series it would be quite impossible to count them, but today that is not what I'm talking about. (I just found the video and liked it because of its' seamless cutting and befitting music.) I just want to ask one thing from you, even if you don't read this blog regularly or even if this is your first time. What do you read or watch? It's a lot easier to talk about stuff that interest you if I had any idea about what they are. So please enlighten me.
What is it that you like?

My own drawings

This is a really good remix and the clips are put perfectly together! Please enjoy!

Yeah, you've probably noticed all the pictures I put up here. None of them are mine, but that doesn't mean that I don't draw. Today I'll put up some of my own pictures. They aren't nearly as good as the ones I've put here up til now, but I'm still just a novice anyway.

I did this one as a request to my friend on christmas, so you can just ignore the 'Merry Christmas!'. I'm a bit dissapointed with the length of the tail and of course the backround, but I think I could do it a bit better now.

I drew this one as a cover for a story I'm writing, though the storys name has been changed. The head became a bit too big, but otherwise it became ok.

I wanted to make a girl facing away from the sun, but since I became totally lasy with the backround, it kinda ruined the effect. Here too the face is a bit too big, but all in all it's good.

Yeah, I did this on fathers' day and the 'Hyvää isänpäivää!' is in finnish and means Happy Fathers' Day. I probably like this one the best, don't know why.

All of these are coloured with ProMarkers and I have to excuse myself for the poor lines.
Please tell me what you think and why!

Manga, anime and Harry Potter

As you've probably already noticed, I like the japanese style called Manga. Here is an amazingly fun video where the maker has put small anime-clips together and made it an AMV.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Aside from manga and anime, I'm a total bookworm who can read two Harry Potter-books in one day and who always has at least one or two books at hand. When I go on a trip, if I don't have at least 500 pages of something to read I would go crazy.
I'll post some book-rewievs here later about the books I've read and liked.

Happiness and sadness

I heard this song a long time ago and liked it even back then. I found it again a couple days ago and once again I was swept away. Mika has many cool songs, but I still like this one the best. Please listen to the words and if you want to, please tell me what kind of music you like to listen. I'm probably going to put a lot of music videos here, though most of them are probably going to be a bit anime-related since I like the style in them.

I think life needs both happiness and sadness. I think everyone wants some happiness, but even sadness is needed so we can appreciate the good times.
My happiest moment . . . I don't think there's just one. Spending time with my family and friends, doing the things I like and achieving something, they are all happy and precious memories. The saddest memory is probably the death of my grandma, but nowadays it doesn't get me down. I don't remember her as being dead, since in my memories she is still alive, happy and smiling.
When sad things happen, people tend to think they are alone and at the rock bottom. This is not true. There's not a soul out there who is completely alone, and besides, if your at the bottom, then the only way is upwards, right?
What was the last thing that made you happy?

Busy...

My exams start tomorrow, so I won't be able to post for awhile. I'll write on the weekend again if I won't have time before it!
Here's something you can look at for the time being...

Sleeping away...

Lately I've been having some problems sleeping. It can take over an hour to fall asleep and when I finally do, the sleep isn't too good. I wake up once every few hours and in the mornings I wake up a few minutes before my alarm starts ringing. It's very annoying, but there isn't much I can do anyway.
Sometimes, just when I'm falling asleep, or maybe when I'm already in one, I get this feeling that I'm falling. Like there's absolutely nothing underneath. It's a very disturbing feeling as you can imagine (maybe it's happened to you too) and of course I immediately wake up with a start with my heart beating. It takes of course just a second to notice that I'm safe in my bed and that there's a good 10 inches to the ground. That is all it takes to wake me up so completely and then it takes a few hours to fall asleep again.
I miss those days when I just put my head on my pillow and fell asleep, dreaming of a whole different world where I could be whatever I wanted to. I want to fly high up in the sky, dive into the sea and be able to do all the things I normally can't.
What about you? What kind of dreams do you have?

The role of music in my life

r e f l e c t-by *messa-DeviantArt

I don’t think there is a human alive who hasn’t heard some music. Everyone knows what music is and I think everyone has at least some musical talent. Whether you’re a toddler or an old man, you like music. It’s written in the human D.N.A. Music can be relaxing or it can be something that turns your inner demon on, making you dance as hard as you can.
For me, music is a way to express myself. I play the piano and I like singing too. When I do either of these I get this tingling sensation in my stomach. It slowly spreads throughout my body during the song, making me smile. Music is something that is part of my life, that is my life. It is something I don’t think I can live without.
Music can be so many things. It can be the few simple notes when a young boy is wistling while being happy, or it can be a whole synphony composed by Mozart. It is something that is around us all the time, though we may not understand it.
The role of music in my life, or the role of music in anyones life?
I don’t see much difference.
It's just there.
